Page 1 of 1. 03/2009 Stone Fabricators, LLC. is a division of Ferazzoli Imports based in Gennaro Martorelli, president of Ferazzoli Imports has developed a plan to expand market share by creating a new line of concrete products. “Our concrete is going to have the beauty of marble, but the hardness of granite,” said Martorelli. These new concrete countertops, vanity tops, and flooring products will have many of the same properties as expensive marble or granite counterparts. New machinery will enable Stone Fabricators to manufacture concrete slabs with marbleized color veining, creating attractive slabs that will cost a fraction of the price of real thing. They will also be employing a new “green” manufacturing process that incorporates recycled materials. A direct loan from the Connecticut Development Authority (CDA) for $700,000 will allow Stone Fabricators to purchase the machinery and equipment necessary for the development of this new product line, and will also help create an additional 10 positions with the company. “The more interesting story is that I never even talked to my bank about the project because in this type of economy, I just think that this is a very difficult loan for a bank to make,” said Martorelli to the Middletown Press.
