Technology-Intensive Financing

About the Program

1.	Direct and guaranteed commercial loans and mezzanine financing
2.	Made in concert with or independent of private- or public-sector lenders and investors
3.	Loans may be made at below-market interest rates for projects with significant economic benefits to the state

Eligibility:

1.	High technology, information technology, communications businesses or incubators
2.	Hardware, software developers/manufacturers
3.	"Smart" buildings, laboratory and research facilities
4.	Technology and communications infrastructure projects
5.	The project must have the potential to contribute to the state's:
	Technology Base Intellectual capital Economic Base Employment Urban Infrastructure Tax Revenues Export of products and services
6.	It must be evident that the project can meet the repayment terms of CDA's investment
7.	Developers of technology-intensive facilities may be eligible
8.	The lessees and lessors of technology-intensive facilities may be eligible
9.	Performance guarantees may be eligible

Loan Terms:

1.	Appropriate to business opportunity
2.	Maturity tailored to transaction--up to 20 years
3.	Personal guarantee of owner(s)
4.	Equity interest may be required when appropriate
5.	CDA assistance up to $20,000 per job created or retained
